Many federal agencies have been affected by the government shut down, including NASA. This means that all nonessential science has been stopped dead. Up until yesterday, NASA scientist and engineers were busily preparing for the Mars MAVEN Mission, which was to take place November 18. If we do not have the chance to launch the mission in November, it will have to take place in 2016. The government shut down also means hat all NASA outreach programs will be offline as well as their social media page.
